Let’s be honest. How many artists actually hire a biographer or are befriended by one?
Let’s dispense with art academy protocol.

Eye decided to travel a life path as an artist in 1972 after several epiphanous events. One such was my first encounter with “The Persistence of Memory”. A door was opened. Changing my high school curriculum from math/science to art/literature, I explored cubism along with surrealism. After graduation I visited the Alfred University College of Ceramics for one semester. Unsatisfied and terrified of debt, I transferred to Harpur College for three semesters. Recognizing the futility of pursuing an art career in a small, upstate New York town, in 1977 I left the university without a fine arts degree.

Nonetheless, independent art efforts have persisted for five decades. The fruit of those efforts reflects the early influences of cubism and surrealism. Although I frequently engage in naturalistic studies to maintain my representational skills, the original heading continues to this day.

For five decades the exploration of the “mystery  of objects” (Paquet,Marcel), the immersion into “istigkeit, isness” (Huxley, Aldous), has been my raison d’etre. This current body of work is a record of my research into…
